Draw Attention to Shelter Pets and Make Dog and Cat Toys

Animal Care Centers is a nonprofit animal welfare organization in NYC that takes care of hundreds of animals awaiting adoption. Their website is full of photos and descriptions of adorable prospective pets. Data shows that shelter pets with extra special photos + a unique artwork of the pet can “draw attention” to that pet and help them get adopted! In this service project, we will create themed portraits to try and attract adoptees and get more of these pets into their fur-ever homes. We’ll also make some much needed cat and dog toys to keep shelter pets busy and happy! Animal Care Centers is a nonprofit organization dedicated to ending animal homelessness in New York City and providing refuge for animals in need across all five boroughs. It serves as the city’s only open-admissions animal shelter system, meaning they accept animals regardless of age, breed, medical condition or background. In the past, they’ve had an alligator, tiger, capybara, llama and MORE!
