Prep Thanksgiving Dinner (Families encouraged!)

About the event

Families are encouraged to sign up together! For ages 11-13, a guardian is required to attend. For ages 14+, no guardians is required, but parents are encouraged to sign up and volunteer with their teens! Next Step Community Church needs your help to prep a holiday meal for 100+ on Thanksgiving Day! You'll be tasked with chopping, peeling, and other light food prep to help the staff prepare for the big day. No experience? No problem! Chef Pedro is a professional chef (featured on Chopped) who can help guide you. His work feeding large groups of unhoused and hungry New Yorkers is legendary! Volunteers will also care for the kitchen by cleaning and organizing. Finally, we'll work on some arts & crafts projects such as decorative place cards and centerpieces for the festive meal. Next Step Community Church is focused on helping people in need—whether hungry, homeless, or seeking recovery from substance abuse.
